Why Asia Philanthropy Awards?

Finding hidden leaders in philanthropy in Asia is to reconfirm and spread old oriental tradition of mutual cooperation and giving culture.  Therefore, creating a platform to reward someone who shared their lives for love of others is very important to foster philanthropy in Asia.

APA is created from voluntary participation of many individuals who wish to make this world a better place to live.  APA can make one step closer to make our world to be a better place through dreaming and working together through APA’s program.

Revitalizing old giving culture of Asia.

In Asia, it has been only recent years that people became familiarized with a concept of philanthropy.  Philanthropy award also is considered to be something that western culture celebrates and there has not been any kind of philanthropy award in Asia.   However, Asia also holds a strong tradition of mutual cooperation to help each other during hardships. Therefore, APA wants to revitalize this old tradition of mutual cooperation in Asia and spread giving culture through finding and rewarding hidden philanthropists in Asia.

Volunteer Participation of Non-Profit Professionals

APA is an award platform created by 100 non-profit professionals and is not influenced by any special interest groups. Since these non-profit experts would manage and operate APA independently, this system will create a more fair and transparent environment for APA’s judging process. Finally APA is a place to act philanthropy since it is 100% operated through pro-bono time and donation of volunteers.

Improving awareness of Philnthropy and non-profit sector

The roles of NGO/NPO and philanthropist are becoming greater and more critical in our society as more serious social problems are arising these days.  However, our society lacks an evaluation and reward system to properly recognize works performed by these philanthropists or NGO/NPOs.

APA wants to be a platform to find these hidden philanthropists and NGOs and illuminate their philanthropic works so they can even work harder and more actively in future.
